The Oasis Youth Project was estabilished in July 2010 in response to an identified need of support for ethnic young people from new communities to access youth provision within the Craigavon area. Having received funding from BBC Children in Need, Craigavon Intercultural Programme recruited an Ethnic Youth Inclusion Worker to develop a range of children's and youth activities over a 3 year period.
The project provides an opportunity for youth people from different communities and cultures to interact in shared projects such as art, drama, creative mediums, and personal development opportunities. The group works in co-operation with local youth clubs and the SELB.
The Project has been been granted the prestigious London 2012 Inspire Mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme, which recognises expectional and innovative projects inspired by the 2012 Games.
