Craigavon Intercultural Programme (CIP) is committed to supporting people from different cultural & ethnic backgrounds and seeks to be a catalyst in promoting innovation and opportunities for their community development. CIP offers practical assistance to both indigenous & new communities in promoting integration & encouraging full participation in society regardless of race/nationality.

Title: Basketball training at Oasis
Description: Each Monday and Wednesday evening the Craigavon Lithuanian Basketball team use the Oasis youth community Centre for training. The team is developing its skills in anticipation  of  a new session on the N.I Premier Basketball league. The club also has aspirations for the development of a  lithuanian teenager team. Title: Futsal at Oasis
Description: As part of the CIP summer activities for children & young people the Oasis Youth & Community Centre was the venue for  three days of Futsal,(brazilian indoor Soccer). Janmark, a Braziian Futsal coach has been giving lessons to  a group of Portuguese and local young people. It is planned to continue with a Futsal traning programme at the end of the summer. Should anyone wish to develop futsal skills contact the CIP Youth Inclusion Worker Andrew McCreery.

Title: Summe Scheme June 2010
Description: 32 Children attended the first summer scheme which CIP provided for children and young people at Oasis Community and Youth Centre in Portadown. Children from a variety of cultures took part in the scheme which included Art, Drama, Sport and a visit to Craigavon Golf and Ski Slope. The activities were directed by Andrew McCreery, the recently appointed CIP Youth Inclusion worker who was assisted by a group of volunteers.   The climax  of the scheme was a performance which the chidren put on for parents and visitors at the end  of the programme. Thespecial guest who addessed the audience was the Childrens Commissioner for NI. The summer scheme as funded by Proteus Small Grants
